The infamous Italian Family of Ndoal, the Ventriglias have once again funded Zambia Reports to write something against Dr. Rajan Mahtani. Being the party with whom the conflict of Portland Cement Zambia continues to remain unsettled, the conspirators are arranging a mechanism whereby they can continue to defame him over a series of untrue article. The campaign has been running under the nose of the Government, yet no actions have been taken against the same.

To begin with, the conspirators intentionally published false information in their newspaper with respect to Finance Bank of Zambia and made claims that it was being operated illegally. When the bank was taken over by BancABC, they shifted their attention to Finsbury Investment, the owner of Portland Cement Zambia. Take an instance of the past few months and you will see that they claimed that the name of Finsbury Investment was present in the Panama Papers. On verification, it was seen that it was some other entity and not the one which is associated with Zambia. For a qualified lawyer like Sakwiba Sikota, does it not bothers that the news agency that he is running is full of stupid articles whose only intent to promote people who pay them?

Today if a person in Zambia wants to speak what he actually thinks, he must first consider the consequences that are involved. The liberty to speak freely includes speaking the truth and representing the people’s thought. This is what Dr. Rajan Mahtani did and is currently being targeted by the conspirators. It has now become common for the people of Zambia to see a publication in Zambia Reports that talks ill about Dr. Rajan Mahtani or any entity which is associated with him. The worst part is that there is no protection from any legal body or the Government.

Rajan Mahtani, a name which has been associated with development, leadership and philanthropy, has certainly become a target for Zambia Reports ever since the Ventriglia family has decided to play the defamation game. For the past few years, every now and then when Zambia learns about some developments through the effort of Rajan Mahtani or the Finance Bank, Zambia Reports quickly pops up with its version of the same story and tries to defame the former Chairman Finance Bank.

The game has been running for quite a time now and yet, there is hardly anything which the Government has done to curb this ill-motive. Taking a note of a recent incident, everyone must be aware of the takeover which BancABC made over the Finance Bank Zambia. This news meant that there would less for the conspirators to bark and more to Dr. Rajan Mahtani to cherish. Therefore, a publication was made by Zambia Reports which talks about the various obstructions which can come in the path of takeover. Any person who is sane enough to understand the truth based on evidences would realize that Zambia Reports is simply begging people to believe its stories and make a bubble reputation for itself.

Rajan Mahtani is not a type of person who goes out and appeals to every person for believing him or supporting him. In a career which is almost 35 years old, he has learnt that the only way to move ahead is to chase development and let people bark behind his back. One of his recent plan includes setting up a bio-ethanol plant in the Luapula Province with the support of Sunbird Group. At the end of the day, what matters is the achievement that one has made, people will be jealous of you, but it doesn’t mean that you need to stop in the midway before achieving your objective.
