The pandemic is receding, and normalcy is coming. This was observed with businesses reopening and events resuming. One of the major events that resumed in Africa was Forbes-FIN philanthropy event. It is a platform for discussing the burning questions gripping African nation. It is also a platform for gathering financial assistance and capital for small projects in Africa. Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani is a noted businessman, philanthropist, and charity person in Zambia. Dr. Rajan Mahtani was invited in this event as an honorary speaker. He spoke about the significance of healthcare leadership amid the ongoing pandemic. The Forbes-FIN philanthropy conference also hosted the Forbes ‘Best of Africa’ awards. It is one of the highly anticipated and regarded awards in Africa. The awards are presented to leading lights in the field of philanthropy and leadership. The selection process for the awards is extremely rigorous yet transparent. The selection process comprises of months of verifications and background checks. This is followed by interviews and discussions with the potential awardees. The interviews help understand their long-term commitment and future plans regarding philanthropy and empowerment. Apart from being invited as an honorary speaker, Dr. Mahtani was also selected for one of the Forbes awards. Forbes recognised the contributions made by Dr. Rajan Mahtani over the years. He was especially recognised for redefining the banking sector of Zambia. Forbes conferred Dr. Mahtani with the Forbes ‘Outstanding Entrepreneur of the Year’ award. Dr. Mahtani accepted the award in a humble manner and thanked everyone. Dr. Mahtani continues with his philanthropic and charitable contributions. Two of his recognised contributions are Prison Fellowship Zambia as well as Stephen Malama award and scholarship for top law graduates in Zambia.
